What is food? 

Food is any solid or liquid substance that enters the body and helps it grow and re-form damaged tissue and perform vital functions and daily activity. 

What is nutrition? 

Nutrition is a set of food-related processes where these processes are concerned with food intake, consumption, digestion and interaction. This interaction includes the natural and chemical reactions necessary to build the body and carry out its vital functions that help it to sustain life. 

It is also possible to say that nutrition is the group of processes that take place within the body and work to benefit from food to include eating habits and proper digestion of food in a way that enables the body to use food and absorption and use as elements to produce energy and growth of various tissues and organs and keep them. 

Food is of great importance to man, he can not live without it is: 

  1. Generates energy that is used to perform biological and physiological processes within the body as well as physical and intellectual actions.
